A first-of-its-kind showcase of South Asian female footballers in Britain today. Sporting Equals and Sky Sports have teamed up to celebrate the modern history of South Asian female players and we hope this will inspire more girls and women to get involved.
The exhibition highlights four players and presents a timeline illustrating community' journey in the modern-day game from 2011 to present day. We were delighted to work on the designs for this exhibition.
The four players profiled are Kira Rai (Derby County), Mariam Mahmood (West Bromwich Albion), Millie Chandarana (Blackburn Rovers) and Simran Jhamat (Coventry United). This quartet of players are from different backgrounds, with different journeys in the game, and are proving that there is a path to success. The first-of-its-kind timeline identifies more than 30 milestones and key moments covering the evolution of the women's game and the strides made by women of South Asian heritage in English football.
The exhibition was formally unveiled at the Race Equality Event, hosted by Sporting Equals at Stamford Bridge on 23 March this year. The exhibition will then go on tour.

“This exhibition serves as inspiration, showing that women of South Asian heritage have a place in the game and can achieve anything. There has been great progress in women's football, but this community is neglected and we are proud to partner with Sky Sports to grow the national game.”
